Novocell has a broad intellectual property portfolio of issued patents and pending patent applications developed primarily through in-house discovery. The portfolio is divided into at least five different areas: human embryonic stem cell (hESC) differentiation and cancer stem cell program, hESC culture, hESC encapsulation, hESC isolation and cell implantation.

New discoveries require that we continue to file new patent applications on a regular basis. All Novocell patents are filed in the United States and through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
