This position requires a BS/MS in Immunology, Cell Biology or a related field and 2-5 yrs laboratory experience. Mammalian cell culture and substantial multi-color flow cytometry experience are required. Experience with development and optimization of cell-based assays is strongly preferred. Industrial experience is a plus. Successful candidates must possess good written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills to record and manage data, and strong organization skills.

Salary ranges from $8.00-10.00 per hour, commensurate with level of experience. Novocell, Inc., is engaged in transformational stem cell research with the goal of developing cell therapies to treat chronic diseases. Our initial emphasis is on the generation of pancreatic cells for the treatment of diabetes. We are seeking a Research Associate to join our team that is currently focused on transplantation in animal models of diabetes.
The Research Associate candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: small animal surgery or blood sampling, tissue culture, histology, tissue sectioning, or immunohistochemistry. Experience with surgery preparation/anesthesia and tissue sectioning (paraffin or frozen) are advantageous. The individual will be required to work with mice or rats preferably in immunocompromised/SPF settings. The candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills, computer skills to record and manage data, and a willingness to learn and perform new techniques.
